Archimedes
Math Schools
Archimedes Math Schools is a non-profit organization that was founded by math professors in Winnipeg who recognize the need for a low-cost after-school math program for elementary school children. All university professors who manage the program and work with the children do so as volunteers. Our regular teachers are enthusiastic university students who are studying math-intensive fields and are passionate about math.
More About Us
We run after-school math classes for children in Grades 4, 5 and 6 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. All lessons are planned by university math professors, who volunteer with the program. Lessons are delivered by university math students. Our goal is to provide a structured and comfortable environment where children may expand their knowledge, improve their skills, increase their confidence and develop an appreciation for mathematics. The classes are an extended version of a math club that Professors Anna and Ross Stokke ran out of their home for three years.
